Dallas In Six Is What I Picked

Well, I got one right! Yes, I picked the Dallas Mavericks in six games and that is what they did Sunday night as they won the NBA Title. Oh, it was great to see the Miami Heat go down in flames to the Mavericks. It was good to see guys like Jason “The Jet” Terry, Jason Kid and especially Dirk Nowitzki (who was also MVP of the Finals) get a championship after great careers.

Normally I don’t root for owners, but it was good to see the thorn in David Stern’s ass, Mark Cuban finally get the title his has spent plenty of money trying to get after he bought this league doormat. While it was good to see one of the better team efforts in many years reap the awards of an NBA title, we all know the best part was seeing the Heat get their egos hit with a fire extinguisher.

I mean going back to LeBron James and his decision or the media event where the Heat’s big three (James, on DeWayne Wade and Chris Bosh) declared a Miami Dynasty or their mocking of Nowitzki illness before Game 5, we all wanted to see these “punks” get what was coming. After the loss, there was the Crying King of No Rings on the podium talking about how his “critics” (regular people) could go back to their pathetic lives while he jet sets the world. This is why most people can’t stand James.

I know lot of people believe that this is just a setback for the Heat and their championship road starts next season. With a lock out almost a certainty the landscape could be totally different when the Association restarts and this might have been Miami’s best chance. The one thing I couldn’t believe though was some people were still saying he was the best player in the game…really! The best player of the last few years was Kobe Bryant and right now at this moment it is Nowitzki. So, I would like to say congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks the NBA’s version of America’s Team.
